Marion Webber is an an artist, educator, and consultant with decades of exhibitions and experience in the art world and graphics design. Born in Ontario in 1952, her earliest influence was her mother, an accomplished oil painter. Her influences since then have become broad and cover the worlds of painting, photography and graphic design. They also reflect her education and work experience, a BFA from the Unviersity of Victoria and 25 years as a graphics and advertising designer. She describes her work as,
"...emphasizing both conceptual and design thinking. I am interested in the fleeting quality of light and the abstract mix of shapes, lines and tones in landscapes. What often attracts my attention are simple strong elements such as the glare off a leaf or the cascading shape of a shadow. I want to take notice of the ordinary and make it extraordinary."
